the Louis-José Houde experiment
I'm trying a little experiment here. Having seen the nifty clips that others have managed to include in their blogs, I thought I would try and do the same. I've attemped to link to a short clip of the stand up comedy of Louis-José Houde. Those of you who've seen the film Bon Cop Bad Cop will remember him as the fast talking coroner, Jeff.
He seems to be pretty much everywhere at the moment. Definitely one of the "in" Quebecois comedians at the moment. So sit back and enjoy this little experiment. By the way, it's in French, so I apologize to those readers that don't understand the language. Til next time...

Well done technocrat.. it is working! I guess now all that has too get added is the special ones made in La maison de Russette!
I think we all know I would need model release forms for those to ever be posted.
yes, well I am sure in Montreal is it amazing what a May West, a pepsi and a smoked meat sandwich might get you.
So after just over a minute, I was able to figure out about 10% of what he was saying. Is your audience primarily French speaking? If not, and you are aware of this, posting a French language clip, even with an apology, smacks of "I'm better than you, because I understand this stuff, and you don't."
I believe I get a smattering of francophone traffic, usually in search of clips containing Lucie Laurier's exposed breasts or nipples. Though when I've mentioned various francophone music groups, I've attracted a french audience, however briefly. I'm sure I've elicited more than my share of «maudite tête-carrée» comments along the way. So consider this a handy bit of middle ground. I give the francophones some comedy to watch as well as intro anglos to Louis-José (Yes, I know you don't all understand it. And yes, I'm better than you because I understand this stuff and you don't :-P).
"(Yes, I know you don't all understand it. And yes, I'm better than you because I understand this stuff and you don't :-P)."
Isn't this like doing a touchdown dance when your team is 35 points down with 43 seconds to play?
"...and da guy turns to 'im an' say, 'Okay, you're a cab!'"
That's hilarious. I sure need to work on my French though.
Eureka, it works, though José Houde is not really my favorite humorist, actually I don't find him funny at all. Some of my favorite humorists (from Québec I mean) include Stéphane Rousseau and Michel Couretemanche (who is not active anymore), unfortunately.
